Newfoundland Regiment Officer , 1914

Description

When the Newfoundland Regiment first arrived for training in England they wore blue puttee’s, a circumstance that lead to the nickname “The Blue Puttee’s”. Eventually the regiment was told they were part of the British Army and so would dress like the British Army, thus the blue puttees were replaced with the standerd green, but the nickname stuck. Metal figure painted in matte finish.
